Privacy Policy
International Bites respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, place an order or contact us.
1. Who we are
International Bites is a Gold Coast food business operating from Carrara, Queensland. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean International Bites.
Privacy questions can be sent to internationalbitesaus@gmail.com or raised by calling 0433 420 337.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:
- your name, email address and telephone number;
- pickup, delivery and billing details, including your delivery address;
- order details, requested dates, cake messages, customisation instructions, dietary or allergy information you choose to provide, and enquiry content;
- payment status, transaction references and limited payment-related information supplied by Stripe—we do not receive or store your full card number;
- communications with us and customer-service records; and
- technical information such as device and browser details, IP address, pages visited, referring links, cookie identifiers and advertising interactions.
3. How we collect information
We collect information directly from you through our checkout, contact and catering forms, telephone, email and other communications. We may also receive information from service providers that help us process payments, manage enquiries, deliver the website and measure advertising.
Please do not provide sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for your order. If you provide dietary or allergy information, you consent to us using it to assess and prepare your request.
4. Why we use your information
We use personal information to:
- process payments and fulfil, deliver or arrange pickup of orders;
- confirm order details, respond to enquiries and prepare catering quotes;
- maintain business, accounting, fraud-prevention and customer-service records;
- operate, secure and improve our website and services;
- measure website performance and the effectiveness of advertising; and
- send marketing only where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law.
You can opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe option in a message or by contacting us. Order confirmations and other service messages are not marketing.
5. Cookies and advertising technology
Our website uses browser storage and cookies to keep your cart working, protect the checkout and understand advertising performance. Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel may record visits, pages viewed, shopping actions, ad interactions and completed purchases. A purchase conversion includes the order value, currency and purchased product details; it does not include your full card details.
Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services and how Meta handles information. You can restrict cookies through your browser settings and manage personalised advertising through Google My Ad Center and Meta Ad Preferences. Blocking some storage may affect the cart or checkout.
6. Who we share information with
We share information only where reasonably necessary with providers that support our business, including:
- Stripe for secure payment processing;
- MWA Media’s customer-management platform and LeadConnector/HighLevel services for enquiries, order records and communications;
- website hosting, email and communications providers;
- Google and Meta for website and advertising measurement; and
- professional advisers, insurers, regulators or authorities where required or permitted by law.
Some providers operate or store information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where their service infrastructure is located. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy terms.
7. Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, interference and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet service is completely secure, but we limit access and use reputable providers for payments and customer records.
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to fulfil orders, handle enquiries, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and prevent fraud. Information that is no longer required is deleted or de-identified where practicable.
8. Access and correction
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. Contact us using the details above. We may need to verify your identity and may decline a request where permitted by law, in which case we will explain why where required.
9. Privacy complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact us with enough detail for us to investigate. We will acknowledge and respond within a reasonable time. If the Privacy Act 1988 applies and you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The current version and its updated date will remain available on this page.
